When the game is over 

As a person, some events of life keep me in the classroom of lessons. One of such is the passing on of mankind; you will not live forever. The world is filled with evils, lies, pain and death and you can’t hide from it, you can only face it. Sorry, I don’t intend to make you sad but that is the reality. Ha-ha, rejoice! There are good things too, through Christ Jesus our Lord, if you don’t have him seek for him.
In fact, Life is a journey not so much to a destination, there are no winners and there are no losers. Frankly speaking, the person you may recognize useless today might be the one to help you out tomorrow. So you see, who won?  I personally believe victory should be counted by the number of lives saved, your impact to the society and the legacy you leave behind. Dear reader, what have you done for your generation? After a football match it is obvious for spectators to tell who performed well and who did not, and this was evident in the AFCON competition exactly a week ago when the black stars of Ghana lost to the Cameroonians. Such is life. Life is a game and we are the players. The question is: When the game is over what will be said about you?

What ‘the blood’ can do!!! Dedicated to my lovely cousin whose name you will come across as you read…   Usually performers who play various roles like drama, choreography, poetry reciting etc., in the course of a program   take time to rehearse carefully what they intend doing during the program in order to correct any necessary errors which may occur before the main show. This does not apply to life; life is not a rehearsals. You have only one chance to have good time with family and friends; there is no such opportunity after life on this earth. Quite recently a cousin of mine did not even know the surname I was using and many more. The only thing I can tell her was “our parents have caused us greater loss and harm which need to be terminated with immediate effect”. The loose-loose-game; unwinnable scenario!!!

The loose-loose-game; unwinnable scenario!!! Couple of years ago, I witnessed a game between a young girl and her elder sister. In this game, a stone is hidden in one palm of the sister, the hand is sent back and the stone left on a chair without the kid’s knowledge. The two hands are brought forward again simultaneously and the kid is asked to guess which hand contains the stone. She never got any of the chances right because the stone is in neither of the two palms. I call this game ‘the loose-loose-game’ . It is an unwinnable scenario! Some youths instead of striving harder towards achieving their set goals, have entrusted their future in the hands of some families and friends who they thought will assist them in the course of their lives. Unfortunately some of these relatives do not carry them to their desired destination. In the long run, they only give ‘tangible’ excuses whenever they are approached.
